Greetings,

My name is Pastor Wendy Vencuss and I am really looking forward to spending time with the congregation at Nichols UMC and sharing in ministry with Pastor Joseph and all of you!  My husband, Tom, and I have known Pastor Joseph for many years and we have been involved in the UMARMY Youth Mission and several other ministry experiences together.

For the past 11 years I have served as a Pastor at the WethersfieldUMCand have also overseen the Christian Education Ministry and the WUMC Nursery School Program at the church. Since 2002, my husband and I have also been very involved in the New York Annual Conference "MountainofHopeforHaiti" Task Force.  He is currently working for the General Board of Global Ministries and is serving as the UMVIM Project Coordinator inHaitiuntil July 2012. To spend time with him, I will be helping to lead several VIM Teams toHaitiduring the next year.  Hopefully, some of you may join the teams!

At NicholsUMCI am hoping to assist Pastor Joseph with pastoral responsibilities as needed.  I am also hoping to help "create" energy and vision for other Ministry/Mission Areas of the church, as this is where I have many years of experience!  I have served several United Methodist Churches as Christian Education Director, Minister of Pastoral Care, Nursery School Director, Assistant Pastor, and Pastor. (Previous to being in Pastoral Ministry, I taught in the field of Special Education for many years.)

Tom and I have two wonderful sons, 2 lovely daughter-in-laws, and 2 precious grandchildren.  I love my family dearly and I also love to be outside, to sail, and to exercise!

Please know that, most importantly, I have a deep love of God.

I truly look forward to the "new" journey we will share together!

                                                               In faith,

                                                               Pastor Wendy
