CROP Walk for HungerContact:Jen Shafer, 378-5159 The first Sunday in May hundreds of walkers from the surrounding area solicit pledges and walk 3.5 miles in Bridgeport in an effort to help poor countries break the cycle of hunger and learn to feed themselves. Service Trip to Appalachia Contact: During the first week of July, youth, with adult advisors, travel to an Appalachian community for the purpose of doing home repairs, ministering, and learning. Support for MethodistSchool in Chandrakal, IndiaA presence in India for 55 years, when the school was started by a Methodist missionary, NUMC.To sponsor a child costs $80.
Habitat for HumanityContact:Sandy Blanchard, 929-6489 Building homes in Greater Bridgeport area for low income families who contribute sweat equity and can pay a modest monthly fee. Skilled site volunteers are needed as well as office and retail store personnel.
