Members of the Chancel Choir will present a 45-60 minute

program of inspirational and entertaining music for the

residents of Crosby Commons. Following the program, the

volunteers will visit, listen, and share stories with the

residents at a cookies and lemonade reception provided by

Crosby Commons. 12 Chancel Choir members are needed.

We will provide a BBQ Lunch for approximately 40 Male and

Female veterans in transitional living houses. Volunteers will

grill, serve prepared food, and listen to and share stories and

experiences with the veterans. We need 10 volunteers, ages

teenage to adult.

We will empty, clean, and inventory the contents of a storage

shed and return items to the shed where veterans store

personal items. We need 3 volunteers, ages teenage to adults.

Leaf Raking, piling leaves at curb for pickup, yard cleanup.

Needed: 8-10 volunteers

Food collection site to benefit Trumbull Senior Food Pantry, Shelton Spooner House, Shelton UMC Blessing Box.

Team 1: 10:30-12:30 Team 2: 12:30-2:30.

Volunteers will fill 250 gallon-sized plastic Ziploc bags with things like toiletries, socks, inspirational messages, and a treat or two. These bags will be delivered to Stratford UMC for guests of the Neighborhood Breakfasts, to Spooner House for

their program participants, and to Golden Hill Methodist and Homes for the Brave. Needed: 20 volunteers

Setup: 7:30 a.m. Serve: 8:30 a.m. Prepare and set up to serve breakfast, converse with the guests, and clean up. Needed: 15 volunteers.

Children will color placemats to be included in the Thanksgiving baskets given out to Covenant to Care family recipients to brighten their holiday this year. 50 placemats and 25-30 volunteers max.

Join us to support the Binky Patrol CT Chapter, which provides comforting blankets to children facing difficult circumstances. These blankets are distributed through hospitals, social service agencies, shelters, foster care programs, and other organizations throughout Connecticut. We will be making no- sew fleece blankets; no special skills or experience are needed. The only skills required are knowing how to tie a knot and having a warm heart! Come join us for fellowship, fun, and the joy of creating something that brings comfort and warmth to a child who needs it. Needed: Adults and teens are welcome. No maximum number of volunteers.

Volunteers will use their crafting skills to put together Thanksgiving favors that will be placed on hospital trays for patients on Thanksgiving Day. The favors will include a Bible verse to brighten and bless their days. No crafting experience is necessary. 15 volunteers are needed in addition to Girl Scouts from the Shelton-Derby Service Unit. This project is best suited for older children and/or youth with some adult assistance.

Do a Binky project (or one of your own choosing) at home. Fleece blanket materials provided. This work can be done on Nov 7 or can be started sooner.
